Description
TAG Presents Paul Miller, SVP, Information Technology for Turner Broadcasting
Join the Technology Association of Georgia as we officially kickoff the educational sessions of the Economic Gardening program in Savannah. These monthly events, which are open to the public and free to Economic Gardening clients, will be based around the theme of “Disruptive Technologies.” In addition to networking opportunities, attendees will get an in-depth look at how emerging technologies are changing the face of business, and what these changes mean to them and their business.
On Wednesday, May 26th, Paul D. Miller, the Sr. Vice President, Information Technology within Turner Broadcasting System, Inc, a division of Time Warner Inc., will address how disruptive technologies are changing the media industry, specifically. Paul provides strategic and tactical oversight for the planning, investment and support operations of the company’s global technology infrastructure environment and services. While leading a staff of more than 250 IT professionals, he is directly responsible for the day-to-day oversight of technical infrastructure operations, including global data networks, voice systems, network and system security, system and data center operations, global messaging, end-user production support, and technology business management functions. Paul is also responsible for Turner’s video transport infrastructure and services that support broadcast feeds across News and Entertainment networks, including optical fiber transport, as well as video compression, satellite earth stations and uplink facilities. A twenty-five year veteran of the IT industry, Paul leverages IT and broadcast technology convergence to facilitate effective and efficient transport methods, as well as ensure comprehensive 24X7 operational support capabilities.
