The Web, and increasingly mobile applications for devices like the iPhone and Android phones are, it goes without saying, a vital part of commercial communication and commerce, whatever your business.
But the web is not a static medium, and rarely has it been in more of a dynamic state than at present. HTML5 is even making mainstream news these days, and there are significant advances occurring in other key web technologies like CSS and JavaScript.
And of course, those new mobile platforms, including iPhone, Android and iPad deliver for the first time a first class mobile web experience. What's less well known is that you can use Web technologies like HTML5, CSS and JavaScript to create native applications which can be installed on all these devices (and more).
The biggest challenge is keeping up with all these developments, and separating the hype from reality.
Since 2004, Web Directions have been helping web professionals and decision makers keep abreast of developments in technologies and best practice, through our highly regarded conference series, now held around the World. As web professionals ourselves, the organizers have a real world understanding of what professionals need to know right now, which informs our content and choice of speakers.
