Every year in conjunction with the Georgia Technology Summit, TAG showcases Georgia's Top 10 Innovative Companies of 2011. We would like to introduce you to PhloSoft.

PhloSoft is the developer of Trimensional, a revolutionary 3D scanner for iPhone which is the first and only product of its kind.  Trimensional allows anyone to capture a textured 3D model of their face (or any other object) using the phone they already carry around in their pocket.

Digital 3D models are an essential part of many industries, from computer animation and video games to engineering and industrial design.  Trimensional provides the cheapest, most portable solution to acquiring 3D models of physical objects, both for entertainment and professional use.

The technology behind Trimensional represents a true breakthrough.  It is like nothing ever seen before on a smartphone, and like no other 3D scanning technology.  Trimensional actually uses the smartphone screen as an active light source, displaying specific light patterns on screen while simultaneously photographing the subject using the phone's front-facing camera.  PhloSoft's custom algorithms then analyze the patterns of light reflected off the subject to build a true 3D model.  It all works instantaneously, making Trimensional the world's most accessible 3D scanning technology.
