Answers to frequently asked questions:

Q: What is TAG Think?

TAG Think is a community website created by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) to serve the Georgia Technology Community. It is a place to set up a profile, communicate with other people, get involved with discussions, and view related multimedia.

Q. What happened to TAGCommunity.org?

TAG Community became TAG Think.

Q. If I already have a TAG Community profile, do I have to set up a new profile? What about my previous connections?

Unfortunately, yes, you will have to set up a new profile on TAG Think, in part because the terms and conditions are different and we need you to take a look at them before getting involved with the site. You will have to reestablish your connections on TAG Think. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience but believe you will find the new site much easier to use and worth the added effort.

Q. If I am a TAG member, can I use my TAGonline.org login to login to TAG Community?

That would be nice, wouldn't it? But unfortunately, no - the two sites have seperate databases and each requires its own login. We'll get there though, in time.

Q. What is the difference between the event calendar on TAG Think, verses the calendar on TAGonline.org?

The TAGonline caledar is dedicated to TAG societies and formal TAG affiliates. The calendar on TAG Think is an open calendar for events related to technology in Georgia, regardless of their TAG affiliation.

Q. What is a Society?

The Technology Association of Georgia is an umbrella organization for 25 Societies. We wanted our "virtual" community to align with our actual community, and so the group aspects of TAG Think are centered around the existing TAG Societies.

Q. Can I start my own group?

No. The only groups on TAG Think are the ones that correspond to the TAG Societies. If your area of interest falls outside a particular Society, you might want to discuss it in the open forum section, under Community.

Q. Can I start my own blog on TAG Think?

No. The blogs are, again, affiliated with the Societies. We do have a blog roll on TAG Think, and if you would like to be added to it, please contact us and make your case.

Q. What is the Facebook login option?

There are two ways to login to TAG Think. One is to set up a profile by entering a user name and password (you can come back and add more details later). The other way is to use your Facebook login and password, which is nice if you want to just quickly add a comment to a discussion, etc.

Q. Can I use my Linkedin user name and password?

No, Linkedin is not supported in the same way Facebook is. We are hoping that they open up their API in the same fashion and when they do, we will be able to integrate them better into the site.

Q. I can see a Society Board Group, but I can't join - why not?

These groups are strictly for the respective TAG Society Boards. If you would like to get more involved with a particular society, please contact their respective chair to find out what that entails.

Q. I added an event, but I don't see it yet - why not?

The events must be approved by a TAG administrator. Over time, we might give you privledges to bypass this step, provided you are posting relevent events.

Q. I added a whitepaper, but I don't see it yet - why not?

Same as above - these will need to be approved, at least initially.
