TAG Societies

The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) is, at its essence, an umbrella organization for a large variety of smaller groups, or "Societies," which TAG divides into three categories: People, Function, and Industry. Each Society is represented by their own board or directors, sponsors, and hosts their own regular events. The Society pages on TAGthink are where the people involved in these groups connect and share in-depth information on a daily basis.

Clinigence Receives ONC-ATCB Certification by Drummond Group Atlanta, 11 July 2011 – Clinigence, a next-generation clinical business intelligence technology provider, has received the federal government’s “meaningful use” stamp of approval by earning EHR Modular Certification for all ambulatory and inpatient clinical quality measures. The designation officially deems the Clinigence software (v1.0) capable of enabling providers to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Tested and certified under the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB) program, the Clinigence software is 2011/2012 compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Clinigence v1.0, which met the requirements for ambulatory and inpatient modular EHR, is a collaborative, cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that aggregates data from EHRs across the continuum of care and delivers actionable information to improve guideline compliance and effectiveness on patient and financial outcomes. The software offers a highly extensible library of clinical guidelines and measures, including all 44 ambulatory and 15 inpatient meaningful use clinical quality measures. The Clinigence powerful toolset includes benchmarking, trending, intervention planning and real-time tracking, population health management, process-outcomes analysis and user-customized protocols and measures. “Our mission is to help healthcare providers translate clinical data into better care and better business. Certifying our technology helps our clients achieve both goals. We see meaningful use as the foundation on which our clients can build their capacity to succeed under new value-based payment models. In addition to qualifying for incentive funds under ARRA, healthcare providers can leverage our software to achieve clinical integration, maximize their benefits under pay-for-performance (P4P) programs, design and implement more accountable care practices and harness collaborative technology to accelerate care transformation,” says Kobi Margolin, Clinigence’s CEO. Drummond Group’s ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology -- a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers. “The need to leverage information technology in the healthcare industry is huge – as the quality of care and efficiency benefits that come with computerization can really make a difference in the overall patient experience. We’re ready to help transform the industry by providing the sophisticated software testing services that ensure that vendors and hospitals are offering systems that are capable of meeting the meaningful use standards required to obtain incentive funds as well as the rich functionality required to move the clinical care needle forward,” says Rik Drummond, CEO of the Drummond Group. “We have been testing software for more than a decade and are ready to leverage our extensive experience handling sophisticated systems in complex industries as well as dealing with complicated technical issues such as interoperability and security.” Certification Details The Clinigence v1.0 EHR Module is 2011/2012 compliant and has been certified by Drummond Group, an ONC-ATCB approved to certify any complete or modular EHR both ambulatory and inpatient, in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
